	UCC Executive Council Considers New Governance Structure...
	It is always exciting and inspirational to attend the UCC Executive Council meetings and to see our Church from the perspective of "Our Church's Wider Mission!" Each time, I return home energized by the people, commitments and missions of the United Church of Christ. Whether it is responding to worldwide disasters, coping with the national publicity of a presidential candidate who happens to be a member of the UCC, or working on the "nitty-gritty" of a new governance model, one can not help but be impressed with all that identifies us as an active and involved church!
	The Executive Council and the four Covenanted Ministries Boards met in joint and overlapping sessions from April 9th through April 14th in Cleveland to do the work of our various ministries, but our primary mission was to consider the report of the Governance Follow-Up Team and to vote on the plan to restructure the national church governance. Church politics is an area in which one treads lightly, but the over all goal of "...more accountability, cooperation and communication between Covenanted Ministries, as well as improving the resourcing and financial stewardship of the national setting" was worthy of our patience, time and best efforts.
